JADA ATCHU-YUDOM

FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Jada Atchu-Yudom is a senior in high school and an advocate for mental health. Living with a person with a mental disorder and being part of the colored community has enabled her to see the deep reality of mental illness and how stigmatized it really is. Mental illness doesn’t discriminate so why does society when it comes to accepting and treating people with mental illness? Jada is a firm believer that your mental health should not define you and your story is so much greater than the mental illness threatening to hold you back. She hopes Revive can act as a safe haven for people worldwide and be a place where the stigma is just a foreign myth, not the unfortunate reality of our world.

Sania (“suneeya”) Ahmad is a 17-year-old senior in high school who has always viewed mental health as an important subject because she’s seen many of her peers struggle with it and she, herself, has as well. She’s felt the stigma before and wants to do everything in her power to reduce it, so more people can be open about their mental health and get help if needed. She strongly believes that everyone has a story to tell and hopes to share as many stories as she can via Revive, in order to remind people just how amazing they are and normalize the conversation around mental health at the same time.

DIRECTOR OF JOURNALISM – BLOG

Ria Bhatia is a 17 year old who is passionate about raising awareness about mental health. She believes it should be one’s top priority but is it not, and she wants to change that. Moreover, she believes that one of the great challenges of the 21st Century is going to be tackling mental health and the taboo that comes along with it. Some studies show that young people today are most depressed and anxious than ever, and she sees this around herself as well. She has friends that deal with crippling anxiety, but their parents don’t believe in therapy or psychiatry, so their conditions are left untreated. She’d like to be a force of change, and work towards building a more supportive society which acknowledges mental health as a legitimate problem.

AVISHIKTA BAGCHI

DIRECTOR OF JOURNALISM – INTERVIEW

Avishikta (“Avi”) Bagchi is a highschool student who is interested in learning about biology and history. Her favorite activities consist of reading mystery novels, listening to K-pop, watching Asian dramas and tutoring other students. The reason why she values mental health awareness so much is because her parents and friends influenced her to be a very empathic person. Mental health is often either romanticized or stigmatized in our society, which creates an impregnable bubble around those who need help. She wants to provide a safe space to those in need of help, those offering help and every other person who wants to educate themselves about mental health.

Radhika Mehrotra is currently pursuing her Masters in Film and TV. She’s deeply passionate about Photography and hopes to be a Wildlife Photographer some day. Having undergone depression and anxiety issues herself, she’s well aware of what it is like to battle your inner demons everyday which stop you from being productive and having a positive approach towards everything in life. If through her efforts, she’s able to give hope to even one person to hold on and survive, and contribute in removing the taboo around mental health, she’ll be grateful. She knows what it’s like when you feel you won’t be heard or nobody will understand so she wants to contribute in providing that voice to people which is something she couldn’t do for herself. This world needs more kindness and she’s positive that being a part of Revive and helping people share their stories would inspire and give her hope every single day as well.

EMILEE BRAVO

DIRECTOR OF PRODUCTIONS

This is Emilee Bravo. (Yes bravo LOL). She is a senior in high school that hopes to have a career in business marketing and/or management. She really loves to sleep and be cozy in her gray cotton blanket. Mental health has been a big thing in her life because she personally struggles with it. She has experienced those dark days where it feels like mental illnesses has robbed so much from you. Luckily, she had a great support system that checked on her and made sure she was okay. Unfortunately not everyone has that and she hopes that as being a part of this organization, she can be part of the movement that brings that support system to everyone. As well as making sure that they know that they are loved and won’t have to worry about others judging them
